From the antiquity today, the Cirò has always enjoyed reputation being equipped of therapeutic virtues.
In fact more than a doctor it guaranteed, probably more for personal conviction that for objective, scientific than the Cirò it is a “sure cordial one for who wants to recover the forces after a long disease” and moreover it is “tonic opulent and majestic for the human old age that wants to be still crowned of green for years”.
Hugh Johnson, author of a most famous “Atlas of Wines” known in nearly all the world, defines the Cirò “Il Barolo del Sud”.
